OFTTech has two finite element systems to analyse the thermal, structural and dynamic aspects of high speed machinery. Many projects have been undertaken with various international clients to look at the stresses, temperatures and displacements in a wide range of machinery. One particular area of expertise is in the calculation of compressors (and/or turbines) of the centrifugal and scroll type – both have the advantage that they are oil-free.
